OFFICIAL LIGHT ON OPERATIONS.
FIFTEEN GERMAN CORPS
ENGAGED. FRENCH BEAR BRUNT OF FIGHTING. (Received November 26th, 1 a.m.) PARIS, November 2-5. An official review of the six weeks' battle in Flanders has been distributed among thc troops. It states that the battle has resulted in the failure of the German attempt to outflank aad break through tho Allies' line. The Germans massed fifteen army corps under the Crown Prince of Bavaria, Generals yon Fabeck .and you Deiraling. and tho Duko of Wurtemberg. The Allied forces wero not as numerous as the Germans, but wero considered sufficient. Tho Kaiser came to tho front and arranged to proclaim the annexation of Belgium at Ypres. Tho review shows a generous appreciation of the help of the British contingent, but the chief burden fell on French troops, commanded by General Foch. »n^ cr General Joffre's orders, ivith General Castelnau commanding the army at Arras, General Maudhuy tho troops between Arras and Lille, and General Durbal commanding the Belgians.
