After the Royal Handicap at Addington yesterday, F. Holmes was called beforo the stewards .to'expbin why he had not persevered with Franzalena. The explanation given was accepted. Mr T. Sheenan yesterday sold his. Martian—Greek Maid yearling fullbrother to Byron, to Mr Hazlett, of Otago. for £40d. The stipendiary stewards at Addington yesterday lined J. Cockerill, the ride .of Breeze in the November Handicap, £2 for looking round in the straight, this being regarded as a dangerous practice. -
