Beef .—There' is very little doing in th© bbef iirade,. with ttio' exception of Government contracts. New" Zealand hinds did, fores old. There is a moderate supply of chilled beef. Hinds 6Jd, fores s£d. Butter.—The market is firm. I>anish (steadier) 132s to 1335, Siberian (slow) 122« to 1265, Argentine (stead v) 120s to 1225.. Cheese—The market •is eteady. Canadian (quiet) 7os to 765, English I (steady) 82s to &4s. exceptionally good 80s. . Stocks of Canadian cheese at London, Liverpool, and Bristol on November Ist wero 263,000 boxes, against 306,000 at the same time last year. Stocky of New Zealand cheese on November Ist were nil, against 200 crates at the same time last year. Hemp.—-The market is very depressed, and likely to remain so. Some holders , are forcing sales, but poof business has been done. New Zealand good fair £22, fair,£2o 15s, fair current Manila £23. The output from Manila for the week was 12,000 bales. Wheat. —The market is firmer on account of the acceleration of war with Turkey hindering; Russian shipments. Australian 48s, c.i.f. [ Oate. —The'market is strong, and all stocks are advancing. New Zealand Gartons 31s es: store. Beans and Peas. —The market is firm, with a hardening tendency. Wool.—The wool, sales have closed. The market is firm owing to reduced supplies, and in anticipation of irregularity of, shipments for some time. Manufacturers fear that supplies will be short for future requirements. The prospects are favourable for a continuance of high prices. Estimated values are:—Fine crossbreds, all jrrades. Is 2d to Is 4Jd. coarso crossbreds, all grades. Is to Is 3d; medium crossbreds, all grades,'ls Id to Ik 4d; superior merinos; Is Id to Is 4d. medium lid to Is Id, inferior 7d to 9d.
