Among tho latter is a little volume ■called "Kriegs-Chx-onik," consisting party of a. highly chronicle < ? iho Avar, partly of soldiers' letters from tho front.
As showing tne methods of thought of the enomy these last have onsiderablo valuo. It « "ot tho truth or falsehood of the tales in thorn that matters, but the applause and selfcongratulitions of the writers on deeds of gross treachery and cruelty claimed to have been done by tho writers themselves or their comrades.
