Parr (Mayor of Auckland), tho Government caiuiitlato for .Eden, in tho course of a, political address at Mount Albert on Wednesday evening. "Wo are in the middle of a great world war. A change of Government is not advisable unless it can bo shown that the present Government is incompetent to manage the great war business. No company would change its board of directors in a tinio of crisis, unless for .somo. vital reason. No better Minister of Defence than Mr Allen could be found in New Zealand.
"As a matter of fact,'' proceeded tho candidate, "Mr Allen has done excellent work. Yet tho Opposition scarified Mr Allen a year ago. because he dared to talk ahopt an Expeditionary Forco being required." '
