ANOTHER GERMAN EFFORT.
ENEMY BEING REINFORCED TN THE NORTH.
The High Commissioner reports:—
IiONDON, November 6
Paris reports no appreciable change during; yesterday along the whole front.
Fighting continues on the same scale as beforo, between Dixmudo and tho Lys. without marked advance or retreat.
There are violent cannonades to tho north of Arras.
The German effort iv Belgium and the North of France is being prolonged. The Germans teem about, to make changes in the composition of their forces operating in these regions, and are reinforcing their reserves ' and forces of new formations, which hare been severely handled, with acrive troops, in order to attempt a new offensive or counter-attack?.
Sanguinary defeats have been inflicted upon them between the Somrae and the Oise. and between tho Oife and the Mouse, detailed actions have been fought.
A column of German waggons was destroyed by our artillery in the region of N-po-d.
"Near Rerry-au-b.ie We have ro-taken the village of Sapigneu. which tho Gormans had captured. Desperate fightin_ has taken . place in the Argonnes, where, by bayonet actions, our troops repulsed* the" Germans.
