(ABRIDGED TRESS ASSOCIATION' RETORT.) - LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. Thursday, Ocror.v.s 29. The Council met at 2.30 p.m. LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL BILL. The Legislative Council Bill was received from the Lower Houso with amendments. The Hon. F. H. D. BFLL moved that the Council disagree with the amendments and that tlie flons. Wivjram. Hardy, and himself be appointed to draw up reasons for such disagreement. This was carried. The House of Representatives reported that it had disagreed with the amendments made in tho Education Bill. The Counci! resolved to insist on its amendments, and appointed the Hons. B"!l. Aitken, and iinrdy to draw up reasons. FINAL STAGES. The following Bills were put' through their finai stages:—Wages Protection and Contractors Liens Bills. Laws Amendment Bill. Roman Catholic (Bishop of Auckland) Empowering Bill, Taumarunui Hospital Bill, West Coast Settlement Reserves Act Amendment , W. Patents Design aud Trado Marks! Bill. '" I
