RUSSIA'S CAMPAIGN.
FIGHTING IN EAST PRUSSIA. SUCCESSES ON THE VISTULA FRONT. PETROGRAD, October 28. It is officially stated thai fichting has recommenced in East Prussia, where tho Russians repulsed desperate German attacks at Bakarzcwo, near Suwalki. * Fighting on the Vistula front extends, from Kutno (eighty miles west of Warsaw) to tho mouth of the Uzauka river, particularly at the source of the Jeraow, and at Rawa, where part of the enemy's positions • have been carrier! .
Russians forced the Germans to retreat at Altaudrano on the Vistula, south of Ivangorod. taking fifty officers and three thousand German men prisoners, and captured machine gmis and eight cannon. Telegrams from Warsaw stato that heavy columns of Russian cavalry occupied Lmod.f> on Tuesday. There is excitement in Petrograd. as this threatens the wholo line of German comnri:iic<-tions.
A German girl . spy was court-mar-tialled and shot near Petrograd. Her clothes were found to be lined with admirably executed plans of the Kronstadt and Mcthe defensive works.
