THE PRICE OF SUGAR. AN ANTI-GERMAN LEAGUE. (Received October 29th, 9.10 p.m.) SYDNEY. October 29. The Colonial Sugar Company has submitted to the Commodities Commission a proposal for an advance- of 2os a ton in all classes of sugar, bringing the price of tho company's standard grade up to 4455. Ono of tlie reasons is that owing to war conditions refined sugar similar to standard grade is worth 600s in the world's markets. MELBOURNE. October 29. An anti-Gorman leaguo lias been formed to prevent trade with the enemy. It hopes to gain tho co-opera-tion of tho British Board of Trade.
