BRITISH SHIPS DRIVEN OFF. ENGLISH LOSE~HEAVILY TN STREET FIGHTING. (Received October 27th, 12 45 am) AMSTERDAM, October 27.' A Berlin official messago says: "Tho enemy is obstinately defending Nieuport and Dixmudc. "German artillery forced tho British fleet eight miles off shore, and three vessels wero hit. Our attacks southwest of Ypres and west and south-west of Lille aro progressing. Tho English lost heavily in street fighting, and five hundred prisoners wero taken. "A heavy French attack north of Arras broke down, and the enemy suffered severe losses-."
