m .FANCY-DRESS PARADE
The commercial travellers, who. are. organising £s a body for the success of to-morrow's "gala" day iv aid of ihe Opon-Ai-'- Homes for Children, are determined fisat fun and frolic shall reward the public for its patronage of their efforts. Tho fancy-dress devices are sure to attract by their novelty, and the wearers may, ia each case, bo relied upon to add genuine humour '<-0 their display of varied hnery. Among the characters or tho procession will bo ah orang-outang with a band organ; an Indian Chief prize-lighter with a son called "Red Feather' ; '"Little BoPeep" and ''Utile Boy Blue, - ' who will grec-t all kind contributors to the money-boxes";' a little "Whito Fairy," with a magic wand that is guaranteed to produco gold from even bound pockets; a Japanese maid, who will plead coyly and modestly'for spare coppers; and Dick Turpin and Tom King, who v.ill truculently demand silver at the revolvers point. In addition. "The Christmas Pudding"' will roll along comfortably, and "Father Neptune" v.'ill bo ou hand to dance that hornpipe which has made him famous. The Span* iiih bull-fighter, who is noted for his proficiency with professional t instruments, will attract, all eyes, but a few glance:, may be spared for an Indian Rajah, sparkling with diamonds and, gold lace: who will probably be stalked by "Shyjock,.' to whore ho not improbably owes money. Other disguises will cover policemen, suffragettes,' professors, and morikeys, while tho band of trained musicians which will lead the procession will be "out on its own.'' Tn'e'ouo appeal that the '"travellers"' have to make to tbe public is that their collective purses will not bo left behind.' Tho route oi tbe procession, which will las t from-9.30 to 10:30, is as follows:— ' . '
Leave Latimer square; down Madras street 'and up Cashel street to Manchester street; proceed up it to Armagh street and then turu to the left and down Colombo street and through tho Square, passing the Cathedral ou the left; go dpwu High street, '.passing tho Clock Tower, to A. J, White's corner; turn along Tuam street and" then to tho right up Manchester street to tha Queen's Hotel corner; then by turning to. tho loft alOu'g Cashel street, Oxford terrace will he- reached; tho Terrace will bo followed to Worcester street and Cathedral square will be reached. Here, at th© back of the train'shelter, the procession will'be disbanded. Ihq .opcii-air concert which is to bo held in the Squard'in tho evening will commence, at 7.'30, and conclude about 9 o'clock. Thereafter, by "special permission of the management of the WiL liamson Pantomime Company, the choir ■of the travellers will take the platform in the Theatre Royal in the interval and c the special "ode" prepared for the event, while collectors make an appeal :6 th© audience.
