CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION.
A meetin" of the management committee of tho Canterbury Hockey Association was held last evening. Present—Messrs VV. _£• Rogers (chairman). D. Jones, C. Bellamy, W. Chappell, W. Loighton, A. S. Drayton, W. H. Down, S. G. Holland, P. M. Yelvin, and P. Agar (secretary). • A letter was received from the Aenbtrrton Sub-Association, stating that July 30th would be a suitable date for two representative matches to bo played at Ashburton. It was decided to send two teams (first and second grade) on that date. A letter was received from the Otago Association, in reference to a visit from a Canterbury team. It was decided to send a team to visit both Otago and Southland at the end of the season, and that the selectors bo instructed to select the necessary team. The Akaroa Association wrote in connexion with tho proposed matches to be played at Akaroa. The secretary was instructed to reply that the match could not be arranged for a Saturday, until September, and to suggest a mid-week game. After somo discussion, it was agreed to continue the first grade competition as usual, on August 15th. Th .
