The monthly meeting ot the Waiau School Committee; was held on Thursday evening. It was decided to keep Arbor Day as a holiday, -. and plant trees in the school-ground, and also endeavour to. procure oaks for tho children to plant at home. The chairman was.instructed to forward tbe remains of the school flag to the Board with a request for a new one. Mr L. Lyford's tender for the cemetery paddock was accepted. The sum of £1 was voted to procure sports materials for the children. It was decided to procure estimates, for the erection of a shelter-shed, to apply to the Board for a grant, and to circulate subscription lists in the district. '
