MISSIONARY'S ALLEGATIONS. (By Cabla.—Press Association.—Copyxieht.) SYDNEY, July 9. Tho Roy. Mr Goldip, chairman of the Methodist Missions in the Solomon Islands, reporting on his visit to Ontong, Java, states that nativo converta are being cruelly persecuted, their property devastated, and food for the. relief of sufferers intercepted. L . Mr Goldie, upon landing, was surrounded, by hundreds of hostilO natives, and threatened wjth uplifted weapons. Tho Commissioner of the Solomon Islands has promised an investigation. Dysentery is raging in,tho Santa Cruz group, and several deaths have occurred. . (Received July 10th, 1 a.m.) Passengers arriving from the Solomon Islands state that the Group will be changed from a protectorate to a British Crown colony within a year.
