CHOKA.
A crowded meeting was held in the Rifle Club rooms to make arrangements for the opening of the new hall. It was decided to ask Mr R. 0. Dixon to por4'orni the o_jpuing ceremony, and to hold a bazaar on Wednesday and Thursday, July 29th and 30th. Tlie following wercelectcd a committee to arrange for the bazaar: —Mrs Glist. Miss Begg, Miss Haden, Messrs J. Begg, T. Lord, C. Walker, and F. C. Mnlmancho. A strong committee was formed to look after the hall, and also to furnish social ovtninss. Tho Rev. C. A. Fraer. who is staying at Sumner on account of a serious breakdown in health, is reported to le improving, but very slo-viy. The Ohoka School Committee is cunevenine •ai meetin*r. to bo held in the Druids' Hall on Monday evening next to consider the Open-air Hemes for Children *-ehcnie. A large attendance is expected..
