The monthly meeting of tho Mount Herbert County Council was held or Monday at the Council Chambers, Purati. Present—Messrs O. Bradley, A • R. Fleming, H. Field, L. M. Wilson, J. Hunter, Q„. C. Hanson, I*. Bamferd, and It. Allan. A vote of condolence was passed to the chairman (Mr O Bradley; in the loss of bis late brother, Mr Frank Bradley. It wa9 resolved to remit it !n quartorly instalments. 3lessrs Bradley and Allan were ompowered to sign the rate roll for tho ensuing year. It was resolved to call for tenders for tho farv rcatjon of a four-foot track through the Maori pa to tho property of Mr G. G. Holmes, Pigeon Bay, and to form the road from Pigeon Bay boundary to Mr W. Iness's property. Tho clerk was instructed to write to the PostmasterGeneral (the Hon. R. Heaton Rhodes), protesting against the Pigeon. Bay telephone being connected with tho Port Levy wire, as the district wire was now overcrowded, and request that an additional wire should bo added.
