« (ritES- ASSOCIATION TJ-LKGKA-f.) Vl-LLLVGTON, July 8. Application was made by tno Wellington Hotel .Workers' Union yesterday to attach the Wellington clubs to tho hotel workers' award, with a view to getting a hix-day week tor club workers, tho samo as for hotel employees. There is, it appears, doubt as to whether tho Arbitration Court, can legally bind clubs to any award, but in the event of an adverse decision, the Union is taking steps to secure an amendment of the Act. Jn effect, the legislation proposed is that- otily chartered clubs shall be bound by awards, and that each club shall have tho option of giving up its charter or running its bar lousiness under tho same labour conditions as \ licensed hotel-keepers aro obliged to j run theirs. j ~._ • !
