DRUNKENNESS. ; One first offender for drunkenness was fined os, iv default twenty-hour hours' iniprisonment. - Mary Anne Vaughan, .charged with drunkenness and a breach of her prohibition order, vss fined. 10s ,on each charge, and was refused time .to pay. "You can' send out for the money,' , said the Magistrate, adding that accused's record was a bad one. . IDLE AND DISORDERLY. Nellie Solomon came, up for sentence on. a charge of. being idlo and disorderly. She had absconded from a Home. , " The Magistrate: I give you women a chance, and this is what happens. Accused: I didn't get on with them at the home. I'd- rather go to gaol. The Magistrate: Six months' imprisonntent with hard labour. BROKEN ORDERS. John Scarft and Alfred Haft were each fined iOs, in default 48 hours' imprisonment for breaches of their prohibition order. Gfoorge Newman (Mr Johnston) was fined 3Qs. in default fourteen, days' L

Charles Henderson was ordered to pay 25s a week towards the support of his-children, who are inmates of an industrial school. Henry Thompson asked that the arrears on a maintenance order in support of his child! should be cancelled. The application was dismissed. Francis Henry. Fuller, in arrears on a maintenance order in support of his wife, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment, in default of payment. Leonard Muir, £6 in arrears on a maintenance order in support of a chiild, pleaded illness as an excuse for his laxity. He was sentenced to one month's imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended providing he paid off tho arrears at the rate of 10s a week.
