SHEFFIELD MARKET.
At the Sheffield sale yesterday there was a yarding of 3850 sheep and lambs, of which 2520 were in the fat pens, lambs accounting for 1920, the balance
being mado up of 450 ewes and a few small lots of wethers. There were a few lines of good and finished lambs, but the bulk were of light and medium quality. The ewes were chiefly good, useful* sorts, but with the exception ot two small pens, the wethers were only little better than' good foirward sorte, and were taken by graziers. The stores, with few exceptions, were of a poor class, and backward in condition, lbero was a good attendance, both of larmers and freezing buyers. Competition for fats was barely as keen as of: hue but all lines changed hands at auction or privately. The stores, wrth two or three exceptions, met a slow market, and the bulk were » but a full clearance was «•***« P? 1 afterwards. Bulk of the entry passed. cows £6. 15s to £11 10s, heifers £4 2s 6d to £4 15s.
