OPAWA CLUB.

The annual meeting of the Opawa. Bowling Club was held on Thursday. The president (Mr H. Peorco) woe in ■ the chair. The secretary's report etated ■ that, ac & regult of tho capable attention of the ground superintendent (Mf H. A. Bruce) and the caretaker (Mr T. Phillipe), the green, was in excellent playing condition from start to finish .of the 'season. The Centre, recognising thie, selected the Opawa green for the Champ ton, Bink Competition, and for one of the matches against the Australian team. Twelve new members joined'during the year, and eight resigned. \The tennis courts were in godd playing order, and the new-croquet lawn was now ready. Mr H. A. Bruce presented tho Club with an excellent pavilion for the tennis and ■ croquet section. Tbo Club was indebted to Mr xi. Pearce (president) for his liberality during, hia term of office, and to Mr W. Beanland for his continued valuable assistance. - A concert held by Miss' Clarke and other lady friends realised £10 5s 6d net.' The Club's social evenings were wall attended by the members. The treasurer presented hie report, showing a credit balance of £457 9s 6d. The report and balance-ehoet were adopted. <

Mr-W. Broadhurst woe elected president, Messrs John Clarke and J. W. Hilary vice-presidents,-Mr A. P. Farrow secretary, Mr J Hilary treasurer, Messrs A. H. Thompson, B. Wilson, F. Steans, A. Goodhaxt, and C Luoas committee, Mr E A. Bruce was t&appointed ground superintendent, Messrs A. S. Bruce and C. Lucas match committee, and Mr John Clarke delegate to the Centre. The Club prizes won during the post season were presented by the president as follow:—The C. E. Jones trophy, W. Spillex: Tresa Cup Handicap, W. M. West; Challenge Badge- Singles, W. Ditfort; Two Bowl Doubles, Best and Broadhurst-, * Challenge Badge Rinks, W. M. West R. Wilson A H. Thompson, and, A. S. Bruce (s"_d)-' Challenge Doubles, J. D_ M_l m __cl,e and E. W. Taylor (skip).
