S. Clark the negative, but no vote was taken. Tho half-ycarlv meeting of the Bud of Hope Lodgo of T>niids 'was held on Monday evening, at which there was a largo attendance. The election of officers resulted as follows:—A.D. Bro. 1. J. Hughes; V.A., Bro. W. Ko.i.so: secretary. Bro. F. Evans; treasurer, Bro. H. 11. McXelly; A,T>. Bards, Bros. A. Thompson and F. Maddams; V.A. Bards, Bros. T. Pickard and C. Lindon; 1.G., Bro. A. Chambers; 0.G.. Bro. G. Hfllier; auditors, Bros. C. W. Tyler and W. Rouse; Junior P.A., Bro. A. Edlin. The balance-sheet for the half-year showed: —Incidental fund, £156 15s lid; sick and funeral fund. £1416 10s 4d. It was decided to trans- ' fer the sum of £100 from the incidental fund to the sick and funeral fund. During the evening four candidates were proposed for initiation. Bro. W. Young, delegate to tho Grand Lodge, gave a report of tho conference, and was accorded 'a hearty vote of thanks. Musical items were contributed during the evening by Bros. C. Thwaites, "W. Anderson, and J. Quinn.
