Acceptances for the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club's Winter Meeting close on Friday. Tfarax and Tannhauser are still rnnning in the paddock, and will not be raced during the winter months. W. McDonald has thrown Moddite out of work, and the black gelding will be treated to a spell. E. J. Roden has taken in hand a mare b* King's Guest from a Perkin — "Warbeck 11. mare. The newcomer is very small, but may turn out useful. R. Longley has an addition to his team in the mare Lupin Gjrl, by Lupin, and she should develop into » useful hurdler. Corrie (R. McSeverney) was given a schooling lesson over the hurdles on Saturday morning, and, as usual, gave a very fair display. A cable message from Sydney states thai Allegation has been nominated for the Epsom Handicap and Jack Delaval for the Metropolitan Handicap. Don Charl, the Charlemagne 11. gelding, is to be given a chance to distinguish himself over the hurdles, and on Saturday he tras given his first lesson. The display was such as to encourage' Moraghan to persevere with the gelding, .who showed decided promise.
