The quarterly summoned meeting of tie Cbristckurch branch of the Amalgamated Society of .Carpenters and Joiners held at tho Trades Hall w*s attended by about 100 jsembers.' Tbe elec6on of officers resulted as follows: F. Judkins; vicepresident, Bro. C. WilHns; lecretazy, Bro. F. A. Moody; trwuurer, Bro. W. J. Ashby; Kick Tisitora, Bros. Howarth And Chick. He organiser reported that 16 members had been enrolled "by him, and th&t most of -tbe employers had been : supplied with particralare concerning tbe cetabUsiunont of an office far tbe. regbtnvtion of unemployed members. Tbe «i»tiii.l report and balance-sheet of tho District • Council were adopted. It waa decided to co-oper*te with the c*rpenicrs employed at the railway maintenance staff in raising funds in, aid of the tridow of •> deceased. brother, by means of * picture entertainment. Tho cash receipts for the ereniag amounted tc £25 16s &.
