SEVEN DAYS FROM NEWCASTLE.

She loft the Now South ' Waloa port on Saturday last with 2000 tons of coal, and immediately struck a southerly gale, with mountninoua Ecaa, whic' was at its height on Tuesday. Tho ship was awash fore and aft, and „ some deck ladders, steam-pipe casing- and other deck fittings wero twisted and damaged to a considerable extont. The uaila which had been used to steady the vessel were blown to ribbons, and the tarpaulin which covered tho hatchc3 also received damege. Other daxnago done was tho etav-ing-in of the starboard working boat. " On ono occasion, the vesael was hove {o for several hours. For two daya it vras found neoeseary to use oil bags over tho ship's bowe.
At 1 a.m. on Friday, tho vessel w«» oS Farewell Spit. Sho arrived at Lyttelton with a docid-pd list to port,s due solely to the cargo being shifted by tho heavy bco*.
