Lord Cnrzon, in an address to the Royal Geographical Society, paid a tribute to Dr. Mawson's spirit, resourcefulness, and amazing fortit de in escaping the fate of his companions, Lieutenant Ninnis and Dr. Mertz. He believed that the scientific results of the Afawson expedition would compare favourably with those of any previous expedition.
