GENERAL REMARKS
Weather conditions havo been unusually wintry for this season of the year. The experience of the past is that May and the first three weeks in June are bright and sunny, with an occasional deluge of rain and some severe frosts. This season has been wintry, and the temperature very low, and in consequence the foliago of tho deciduous trees has ripened off .early. Tho cold weather has its advantage in that the trees aud plants will have a longer season of rest, and will be benefited thereby. This tact is known to horticulturists who grow such as peaches, nectarines, apricots, and similar excitable plants. Where the winters'are cold and the summers warm these fruits do better than when grown ii soft and mild climates, where the resting period is limited to a lew weeks.
