(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) . WAIHI, June 5. With regard to the report of the intersection of a lode eight {«et wide in the seventh level of the Grand Junction mine, it is assumed that the lode intersected is the Empire lode. The lodo ahowa a marked improvement in valoes as compared with tie results met with at the point of intersection at No. 6 level, almost immediately overheadHere the Ewoire hang_cg-wsll cam© to hard at 138fi south of tbe shaft, ssd the lode proved to be flft in width, worth 17a. From this point the crosscut went through -9-t el •country rock, aad then touched the -footwall branch of the Empire, which was 7ft wide and averaged £3 6s 9d per ton. The improvement disclosed on the Empire at the seventh level, coupled with the fact that the winz«s on both the Empire footwall and leader from No. 6 level show strong lodes of good average value, point to a satisfactory development, as tbe lodes are opened out on in the bottom level.
