Passing the stand tho second time Barb Wire waa in tho lead. followed by Ruffy, To Onga. and Pip, who was going very jyell. Black Northern ran eft' at the r.3e. Te Onga was first into the -traight the Isst time, and in a fine finish v.-on by three lengths from Barb Wire, with Huffy four lengths away third. Donzrl broke _ leg. and had to be dostroved.
