TRAMWAY BOARD.
YESTERDAY'S MEETING.
The Tramway Board met yesterday afternoon. Present: Air J, A. Flesher .ch-irma-i), and Messrs J>. Sykes. C M. Gray, G. T. Booth, A. W.*Beaven. H. Pearce, and the Hon J. Barr. The Works and Traffic Committee reported that it had decided to accede to the request that the side boards on the St. Martin's cars should bear the words "St. Martins-Rapaki Hills." It had rlso decided that in view of the fact that this district is responsible by way of rate for the full deficiency on the working of the line, to accede to the repeated requests to issue school and apprentices' tickets at the usual rates. The tenders of Messrs Whitcombe and Tombs and Messrs Yates and Bullivant for stationery, and the tender of Messrs Purse and Co. for rule books, had been accepted. At tho request of the Waimairi County Council, the committeo proposed to remit tho tramway rate on the Papanui Domain. Tho report was adopted.
The Woolston Borough Council wrote, asking that the Tramway Board should grant £5 townrds improving the Woolston Recreation Ground.—-Granted.
The City Council wrote, stating that it could not agree to the removal of the lamp in Ixinwood Avenue, as proposed by the Tramway Board. —Received. " Accounts totalling- £3216 19s 9d were passed'for payment.
