Magdala ehaped pleasingly over a mile in lmin oGeec. covering tho last five furlonga in lmiu 12 3-sth sec, without being ridden out. Golden King and Trireme wero apparently too good for Floraline and Cannonade over nix furlongs iv lmin 25 l-slh sec. Palisade strode freely over "ivc furlongs in lmin 10 l-sth sec. Gregory covered seven furlongs in lmin 39 4-sth nee. Ajrhaea and Veritas ran over six furlongs together from a palloping start, the journ.°y teking lmin _Gs?c. Tbo former shaoed more pl»ft«''n-jlv than when work*d fast earlier in the week. Pretty Jano led Fo ranal in tho early part of five furlongs, which were covered iv lmin 10 2-sth sec. but the latter raced up towards the end, and they finished together. Peter, Speedometer, and borg gallopc-d six furlo-g3 in lmin 2-1 _-sth see. Tlie two first-named finished a couple j of lengths in front of tho other. Peter was always apparently master of the situation, j and put up ono of the most pleasing gal- J lops of the morning. Glenfinnan (L. G. | King) was carrying a good deal move weight than Stevedore or Parable Vhen tho trio negotiated .a mile together. Parable led to the turn, and- then GlcTt_nna.ii drew away, completing the journey in lmin S_ 3-sth sec. Glenfinnan was always going well, and was galloping on at the finish. Czar Kolohol worked- over si;: furlongs in lmin 23 _-stli too. Runso showed- a. reluctance to commence, but displayed useful vac.", when really on tho move. B_!lcr« and Wild Pilgrim negotiated six furlon_3 in ImLa 27sec, and Red Pennon came away from Optional when running half a mile _ '53 sec. Bon and Afton Loch finished together, covering five furlongs in lmin 12sec. Case-hot, Kenee, •Pnre Gold, and one or two others got through useful tasks. Silver Dirk was given a turn over the schooling fences, and Kia Ora and Red Troon were companions over a circuit of the samo count!y. Tho Jew fenced well when doing a round over hurdles with Lord Frederick, who was inclined to dwell at the obstacles. Kirn and Cocoon led Eoua, tho last-named jumping slowly over the hurdles. Cocoon jumped pleasingly, but Kirn was outfenced at a couple of the obstacles. Kirn did rot rise at the obstacle in front of the stand. Ho struck the fence with his cheat and threw his rider out of th_ saddle, but a good recovery was made. Gapon cantered, and may be gi'von a run on tho second day, if there is no recurrence of the trouble (breaking a blood-vessel) which affocled him on Tuesday.
