For tho timp of the year a fair amount of .business was done in grain at Rangiora during tho week. Any good sample of wheat found ready sale, Tuscan at 3s 6}d to 3s 7jd, Hunters 3s Bd, and Pearl-3s 9d. Garton oats of first grade changed hands at Is Bsd» damaged and light Is 6d to Is 7d. Partridge peas wero quoted at 3s 10d to 3s lid, but no business was done in beans, the merchant offer being only 2i 9d for speculative purposes. Ryegrass seed sold up to 2s 6d, cowgrass 7d to 7sd, and white clover to 10d for good samples. There was no improvement in the market for oatsheaf chaff, tTie prico remaining at 45s per ton, with little business passing. Owing to farmers being anxious to sell their potatoes off the fork, there was a drop in the market price, 60s per ton being the best prico obtainable. Linseed is still quoted at £9 to £9 ss, per ton.
