Friday Evening. The grain market is still quiet, very little business being done. Prices are unchanged. The operations in Australia .are having a steadying effect on the market here. In tho interval from February; 6th to February 18th twonty-two steamers and twenty-six sailing vessels, all loaded with wheat, left Australian ports for the United Kingdom, s . The potato market is unaltered, £3 per ton at country stations being the ruling rate. Nothing is doing in oats, and late quotations stand. Cowgrass has slightly declined in price in sympathy with the low quotations from London. , The undermentioned are the prices paid:to farmers ait country stations, free of commission, sacks extra, excepting where otherwise stated:— Wheat—Tuscan, 3s 7d to 3s 8d; Hunter's. 3s 8d to 3s 9d; Pearl, 3s 9d to 3s 10d; fowl wheat, 3s 4d to 3s 6d. r Oats—Algerian, Is 7d to Is 8d; Danish, Is 6d; Duns, Is 7d to Is 8d; Gartons, Is 6d to Is Bd. Barley—Prime -malting (nominal); medium* and inferior, 2s 6d to 3s. Rygrass— 2s 6d to 2s 9d for Best .samples. Cocksfoot—Bright nnd heavy samples, up to 4Jd; average, 3d to ' White Clover—9d to 10d. Red Clover—7d to 7sd. Flour—£lo per ton; 1001b bags, £10 10s; oOlb bags, £10 los; 251b bags; £11. Bran—£4 os per ton, local. Pollard—£6 per ton. Oatmeal—£l2 per ton. Oatsheaf Chaff—£2 5s for good samples. Onions—£3 los to £4. Potatoes—£3. Peas—Partridge, 3s 9d to 4s; Blue Imperial (nominal), 3s 6d; Blue Prussians (nominal), 3s.
