A LADY'S DRESS.
LEADS TO LIBEL,
WEARER AWARDED £500 DAMAGES. CTimes" and "Sydney Sun" Service*.) LONDON, May 21. Miss Violet Schmitz obtained in tho King's Bench Division, £500 damages against the publishers of "Modern Life," for an undefined libel in referring to the dress worn by Miss Schmita at a danco at Brighton, as follows:— "Its absolute transparency left little to tho imagination. It was a bit of a scream, and tho moro modest-minded of tho guests literally licld their breath."
Miss Schmitz gavo evidence that the dress was mado by her usual dressmaker under her mother's superintendency.
