OAMARU MARKETS.
(rasss .association telegram.) OAMARU, May 10. The week in the grain mariiet has been rather quiet. Most of the business hore has been done with Canterbury. The following were the prices paid for wheat .-Velvet, 3s lid and 3s ll.d; Rodohaff, 3s"Bd and 3s 9_d; Redcbaff and Red Tuscan combined, 3s Od; AlarshaU's White, 3s 8d and 3s B_d; solid straw Tuscan, 3s 8d and 3s 9_d. There is a better enquiry for good samples of oats, but no alterations in prices. Sales of A grade Gartons havo been made at Is S.d and Is 9d, and up to Is 9_d for an exceptionally good line; B-grade, Is 7£d and Is 8d; all net. Algerians havo sold up to Is lOd, but thero is no market for light oats. Malting barley has sold up to 2s lid net, less commission at a country station. The position in re- \ gard to potatoes is not improving, as Canterbury seems to monopolise the Northern markets. The best quotation is 70s, with Dunedin as the only outlet.
