LONDON, May 16. Jute —May-June shipments, £33 ss. Hemp —Ship is steady, whilst high point is fair. May-July shipment, £25. Cotton —May-June shipment, 7.08 J. Rubber—Para, 2s 9ijd ; plantation, 2s 6d to 2s 6idj smoked, 2s 6d. Copra—The market is quiet. South Sea bags £25 to £25 2s 6d. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Christchurch, has received a cablegram from London giving tho undemoted market information : —"Sheopskins—Merino sheepskins have advanced id sinco last sales and crossbred £_." Messrs Kaye and Carter. Ltd., are in receipt, of cable advice from their London agent., Messrs' Gilbert Anderson and Co., quoting Smithfield mark.t prices as under: —Prime Canterbury lamb: Under 36, 6Jd; 36 42, 61d; 42-50, 6d. Southland or North Island selected: 28-42, 6d. North Island lamb: 28-42, 5Jd. Prime Canterbury mutton: .48-50, '4d; 56-64, 4Jd; 64-72, 3 13 16d. Southland or North Island selected: 56-64, 4d. North Island: 5664, 3£d.
