McCormack, wailed on him at West Oxford on Friday, and urged tlie great need for an accelerated passenger train service to and from Ciirtsichuich Mr Wold was lhe chief si.eakor, nnd pointed out that though the peinianent way had been improved by heavier tneial, and more powerful engines were in use. the time-table had not been changed for twenty-five years, and the journey occupied as long as it did a quarter of a century ago. Mr Hiley said' he wa* pleased to meet the deputation, and promised to look into the matter. In eidentally, he mentioned that a central railway station appealed to him. but ;l was pointed out that the present demand was for an aeoeleiatcd train service, a demand in which the district was unanimous
