Nomads kicked off with btrt seven men playing, and Ranger- wore immodiiitely presented with a glorious opening, which th»\v fai!c<l to avail themselves of. Play continued in their h. If with an, occasional break away by the Nomads, who wero showing up well in their- endeavours to overcome tho odds opposed to thoni. After a spell of pressure tho Rangers forced two corners in quick succession. Good play by Taylor resulted in Hyslop giving a corner, which was carried behind by" the wind. Nomads were now having more oi the game, and a line for* ward movement ended successfully by Taylor scoring with a beautiful shot. Nomads 1. Rangers 0. Upon reinm* ing. Rangers got down, but Mays cleared. Shortly after Howie scored with a high drooping shot. This awoke tho Rangers, who. after a combined run, scored through the agency of Wntorland. Final result; Nomads '2, Rangcir, 1. The __nmcs Sunny side v. Sydenham and Christchurch United r. Linwood were postponed, no referee appearing.
