The worst weather conditions prevailed for Saturday's Rugby matches, and there was a very poor attendance of the publio at Lancaster Park. The few enthusiasts who did i'ueo tho elements wore treatod to a fino exhibition of back play ou the oval by tho Old Boys' backs, who, notwithstanding tho Unfavourable conditions handle! the ball in great stylo, defeating 'Varsity by 26 points to nil. After an evenly contested gamo Linwood defeated Sydenham ou tho west ground by H points to 8, whilo Merivale defeated Christchurch on tbo south ground by 1"" points to 3. The surprise of tho day was the defeat of Albion by Marists' Brothers at the North Park by 6 points to 5.
