(special to "the rßzss") GISBORXE, March 20. This morning, Mr W. Wood, Becretary of the Poverty Bay Cricket Association, received a letter from Mr S. A. Orchard, sole selector of . the New Zealand cricket team for the next test match against the Australians, to take place at Auckland at the end of this month, enquiring if McMahon would be available if selected. A reply was sent stating that McMahon would be available. Teams representing the Wholesale and Retail Licensed Victuallers played a match at Sydenham Park yesterday, and after an enjoyable and close game, the Wholesale team won on the firet innings.
