1 Tha Christchurch Tramway Board < met yesterday afternoon. PresentMessrs J. 11. Flesher (in tho chair), D. Sykes, li. Pearce, G. T. Booth, A. lkaveu, C. M. Gray, S. A. Staples, Dr. Thacker, and the Hon. J. Barr. Accounts totalling £39.4 6s lOd wero ■ _ passed for payment CA&aMEKJEI HILLS. A proposal that a tea kiosk should be established on the Cashmere Hdls aa au attraction to tramway revenue, wa» raised by a letter from the Cashmere Ratepayers' Association, suggesting that a site on tho upper reservoir should bo -ecured at a peppercorn rental.-A, wind screen of trees might be advisable," and band concerts could be held in tfee evenings. Mr C. M. Gray moved that the letter should bo referred to the Works Committee for a report. Dr. Thacker suggested that a pictur* syndicate should be approached to built • a picture show in connexion with tlfe . kiosk. Skating could be indulged U during the day, and the pictures at..evening. A great deal more push should be shown in fhis quarter. _ .. Tho motion was carried. MOTOR-BUSES. — Mr C. J. Ward wrote, inviting their Board to witness a trial run ot a petrol : electric motor-bus to-morrow. DEVELOPING DOMAINS; ' Tho Spreydon Domain Board wrote,.... asking for a donation for its domain. The chairman said that they had not had power to make atijr such donations. Mr D. Sykes said he thought this Board should be assisted, as it was aim-,, ing at opening up its grounds for picnic parties and athletic grounds. Mr G. T. Booth seconded the suggestion that some help should bo Riven, as lie thought it would assist traffic on the Lincoln road. He was aware of no ' rule preventing such a contribution. . Mr Sykes suggested that £10 should be given. "| Mr Staples supported the idea, but Mr Gray thought £5 5s would be enough, as the £-50 set aside by the Board for such help would not go very •' far if they gave £10 every time. The motion to givo £10 was carried. GENERAL. The surplus to date this year w.i«. C446-I. while £1539 was rtceived from special ~ ratine area., making a total if £6007.. The lotal :.urp!us at date last year was £1612.
