A medical officer attached to the London County Council reports that 30 pei cent, of the girls in the London elementary schools are infected with vermin, while 81 per cent, of, the infants aro also affacted. The fact that flea prevalence is observed to occur simultaneously with an outbreak of scarlet fever is regarded as throwing an important light on the obscure problem of tho transmission of diseases in Great Britain. Increased facilities for cleansing infected children are demanded.
