Mr Kearns has been assistant guard, at Little River for three or four years, but has been transferred to ■Chri.stchurch. Reference was made to the fact that Mr Kearns last week joined the ranks of the benedicts, and wishes were expressed by speakers that he and Mrs Kearns would enjoy long life and happiness.
