AUCKLAND SUPREME COURT.

(PRESS ASSOCIATION* TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND. March 3. Mr Justice Cooper and a jury of twelve were engaged to-day, and until late this evening, hearing a wearisome case arising out of the recent miniature ;"war" at Port Chevalier over the establishment of a 6anitary depot there. Henry Atcheson was charged with assaulting Henrietta Edwards and William Pratt. The latter were financially interested in the depot, and Atcheeon was one of the residents ot the district who objected to the depot. A great amount of evidence was called, but before the evidence for the defence was concluded, tho jury announced that they already had heard enough of the case, and were unanimously of opinion that a verdict of not guilty was the proper one. His Honour accepted this, and accused was discharged.
