STATE STEAMERS.
CANADA NOT FAVOURABLE
(Time*" and "Sydney Sen" Senioe*.)
OTTAWA, March 2
The Dominion Millers' Association urged the Government to establish a line of State-owned steamers between Canada and Great Britain, to- combat the increasing ocean freights. It was stated that during the last few years the rases had increased from. 40 per cent, to 75 per cent.
The Premier, Mr Borden, said he did not favour a Government line, and suggested that the millers and farmers should co-operate in creating and patronising a line of their own.
