ROSS GOLDFIELDS. (rr-.3 ASSOCIATION tx_f.--.ai_.) WELLINGTON, February 16. The Ross Gold_elds manager reported on tbe 12th inst. as follows: —Sixth level, Xo. 2 shoot, Xo. _ south drive, has been extended to 151 ft from tho opening; payable prospects at times. Xo. 4 south has been et_:ted_, driven 30ft from the opening in wash ot average quality. Prospecting shaft has been sunk to a depth of 42ft. Thc l_-t 20ft passed through a sandy formation containing just a trace of --old. The water is becon-ing heavier. C_-sius workings: The ground around Cassius having been proved of too low value for profitable mining, it has been decided to discontinue work. The old workings and the men have been transferred to Xo. 2 shoot.
