"THE ARCADIANS"
At the Theatre Iloyal to-night, at 7.50, J. C. Williamson's New Comic Opera Company will appear in an elaborately staged revival of the popular musical comedy ''The Arcadians.'"' which, proved very successful when originnlly staged here. "The Arcadians" contains plenty of clean, healthy fun, witty dialogue, and good mu*ic.' The fun' ol the opera begins with Mr Smith's descent from an aeroplane into the midst of the Arcadians, who re-christen him c>implicitas, and robe him in the garb of an Arcadian. This part is portrayed by Mr Phil Smith, who creates much merriment. Mr Robert Whyte's performance of the part of the eccentric jockey. Peter Doody, has been more than favourably compared with Tom Wall's splendid representation, and in Auckland recently lie- received no less than six encores nightly for his delivery of the famous number "I've Gotter Motter." A special feature of the third act is the introduced dances by Mr Charles Albert and tho young dancer, Miss Vlasta N'ovotna. ' The box plans are at MJlncr and Thompson's.
