MOTOR RACING.
AT NEW BRIGHTON. Tha North Canterbury Motor Cycle Club ran two races on Saturday on the . North Xew Brighton beach, a 43-milo motor-cycle and eide-car Tace, there being fifteen starters in ths 48-mi)e motorcycle race, and nine etarters in the 16-mile race. This racing was interesting, and the track fairly good. A wind coming from the eaet was very boisterous, at times, but in epite of this there was a very good attendance of residents and others interested in the races.
The results of the 4S-niile race were aa iollow:—Hollobon, 3}h.p. * Tripmph, handicap 4min, time 61min Bsec, 1; Bonningfon, &i h.p. Triumph, handicap Smin l&rec, time 62min 35eec, 2; Haworth, 3J h.p. Triumph, ecr, time 57nrin 45sec, 3 »nd fastest time.
Sixteen-mile motor and eide-car race— ilichael, 3| h-p. 8.5.A., handicap Smin, time 2"mm 299 ec, 1; Bonnington, 34 h.p. Triumph, omin 30sec, time 28min loscc, 2; Armitage, 5-6 h.p. King Dick, 45eec, time 23inin 40sec. 3 and fastcet time. Michael finished well, with his aide-car wheel minus the tyre.
