AUSTRALIA v. CHRISTCHURCH CENTRE.
SECOND TEST MATCH. The second test match was played on the Opawa green yesterday afternoon. The weather was perfect, and the excellent condition of the green reflected credit on the green superintendent, Mr Harry Bruce, and greenkeeper PhUtia. . ' ■ . , Mr Herbert Pearcc, President of the Opawa Club, extended a welcome to the Australian bowlers, and hoped that their short stay in Christchurch had been a happy one, also that the match that day would prove an enjoyable one, no matter who won. Tho usual choera and counter cheers, were then given, and the match proceeded. The members of the executive were present besides a large number of visitors, including ladies, and the members of the Opawa Club excelled themselves as hosts.
