TERRITORIAL NOTES.
Oaptain AY. H. Meddings, A.A. and Q31.G., left last night for , Nelson, and is expected to return next week.
yThe Officer Commanding the Canterbury Military District left last night for Nelson on a visit of inspection. He will inspect the Senior Cadets in the Nelson district, and will also visit the site of tho camp of the Nelson and Alarlborough Territorials, which will be held at Tapawera in April.
A gold medal is presented annually by Lieut.-Colonel the Hon. R. Heaton Rhodes to the most efficient non-com: missioned officer of the Burnham School Senior Cadets who shows the greatest ©fficiency in instruction in signalling, section and company drill, rifle exercises, and physical drill. On Thursday Captain D. B. Blair, Adjutant Ist Mounted Rifles (C.V.C.) and Captain A. O. B. Instructor in Infantry Duties, went tp Burnham and judged tho competition, the inedaT being awarded to Sergeant Third, Corporal Randle being second. There were eight competitors.
