The Xew Zealand Shipping Company's liner Otaki is due at Lytic! ton before, the end of the week for Homeward loading. The Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Manvari, which left on Tuesday for Dunedin, loaded the following Homeward cargo while at Lytteiton:—324S bales of wool and 0227 carcases c{ froz-jn m<?nt.
The Kumara left last- nisfnt for Dunedin, whero she will put out the balance of her carTO from Liverpool.
A smart trip from Auckland to Wellington was accomplished by the Shaw, Savill •teamer Waimana, which arrived at the latter porf on Monday last with cargo from London. The vessel steamed the distance in Jers than forty-two hours, at an average speed of over thirteen knots per hour. The Delphic arrived from Wellington yesterday to complete loading for London. It is advised that tbe steamer Southport, chartered by the A. acd A. Line, woe to have sailed on Monday from New York for Australian ports and New Zealand, with a fiui general cargo. She will be followed by another vessel, which will leave the American port on Marrh 2nd.
This morning the Feder.il-Shire liner Ayrshire will leave for Dunedin to put out the balance of her Liverpool otirgo, and H.M.S. Psyche, which has been in the stream for Fomo days, will be brought in and berthed. After a niimler of extra trips to Koikoi:ra for wool and cheep, the Cvgnot has resunved her regular running, and kit for the coastal port last nitrbt. She will return to-d»y, crd leave for Aknroa on Friday The rteaniT John arrived yesterday morning from Nydia .Bay with a cargo of" timber, and left in the evening for southern ports, via Akaroa.
Tho wel'-known four-ni anted birquo Anrue M. Reod, which was iormtrjy known as the Howard B. Tlroop. and has tho reputation of being one of tho fastest sailing vessels trading to the Australian colonies, arrived at Melbourne some days ago from New York, aitor a eplendid nrn of eighty-seven days. Thb passage- is the best made for some yeare between these two ports.
